- Booking requires a $1,500 initial payment. 30% of the total is due 8 months before your wedding, and the final payment is due 2 months before. All payments are non-refundable.
- Dates on or near holidays are subject to higher rates.
- We require all couples to purchase a Special Event Insurance policy through our preferred provider. The cost is $240.

FAQ
Will someone be on site during my wedding?
Yes! We always have a day-of manager onsite the entire day to make sure the venue is running great (bathrooms are clean, lights are on, etc.) and to provide vendors any support they need as they set up.
Do you provide wedding coordination?
We have some amazing wedding planners we can recommend if you want to hire a day-of coordinator. We recommend one if you have the budget for it, but we do not require one.
Do you have a groom suite?
We do not have a dedicated groom suite. The groom and groomsmen can choose one of our four cottages to use for getting ready — usually they use our rustic, outdoor-themed cottage Cedar Lodge, which has a living room with TV, kitchen and more!
How much do most couples spend on catering?
This can vary greatly based on whether it's a catering company, restaurant or a food truck. An average for buffet-style service is $20 – $25 per plate.
How does serving alcohol work?
If you are serving alcohol, it must be served by a licensed and insured bartending company and you must hire security from our designated security company (around $45/hr with a 6-hour minimum).
The bartending companies on our vendor list start around $400 for 4 hours of serving. You are not required to choose from our list, but if you bring in an outside bartending company, we require a copy of their Liquor Liability insurance.
You would still supply the alcohol and then the bartending company is just there to serve it.
Do you allow outside vendors?
Yes! We allow outside vendors. We do have a vendor list we provide after booking with us to help you get started.
How many guests can we have?
Our general maximum is 100 guests, but we can go up to 114 seated guests (including the bridal party) in the Reception Hall.

I cannot recommend the Chapel at Gruene enough. From the second I first stepped on site for the first tour I knew it was special. The chapel is absolutely gorgeous, which allowed for minimal decor, and the reception hall is too! It's also a great size — plenty of space for dancing, but still small enough that it felt very cozy. The staff was so kind and patient with all of my questions, and I love that we were able to pick all of our own vendors, really able to make our wedding exactly what we wanted, and keep it at a reasonable budget. It was truly the MOST perfect day.
When we went out to tour the venue we were greeted by two very friendly faces, one of them being the owner of the property, Michael. They instantly made us feel comfortable and not pressured into the decision. After saying yes to this venue they continued to have impeccable communication and answered all of my random questions. It was truly a wonderful experience to have such a hands-on owner. If you're looking for a beautiful and intimate venue that allows you to pick your own vendors so you can control your budget, I HIGHLY recommend them.
From the chapel's open walls concept, the immaculate landscaping, to the absolutely stunning reception hall, everything will astound you and your guests. It is the perfect blend of elegant and elevated, but not stuffy and too formal that guests won't feel comfortable letting loose. Having the cottages reserved for the night was a huge plus — a few friends, family, my partner and I spent the evening by the firepit and could turn in whenever we chose to.
The Chapel at Gruene was such a wonderful place to have our wedding. My mom told me that she walked around the entire time in awe of how beautiful it was, and was so pleased that it could accommodate our friends and family overnight. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an intimate and memorable experience!
